Former GCU registrar bid farewell
LAHORE, Oct 23: The Government College University (GCU) held a party to
bid farewell former GCU registrar Prof Dr Zaheer Ahmed Saddiqui on
Monday.
GCU vice chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Khalid Aftab said Saddiqui had
been a great asset to the university. He said he always found in him a good
colleague, a committed person and an excellent administrator.
GCU
Languages, Islamic and Oriental Learning dean Prof Dr Sohail Ahmed khan said
Saddiqui had been associated with the institute for more than two decades and
that he was a renowned scholar of the Persian language and literature. He said
his poetic work in Urdu was also of great worth.
GCU Arts and Social
Sciences dean Prof Dr Khalid Pervaiz said Saddiqui had left behind him a great
legacy of scholarship. He said he was a man of learning, but at the same time he
