7,500 take medical college entry test at KEMU
LAHORE, Oct 29: A total of 15,578 candidates across the province sat for the entry test
for admission MBBS and BDS on Sunday. Out of this 7,500 candidates sat for the
examination in Lahore.
The King Edward Medical University (KEMU)
organised the test and set up five centres in various parts of the province. The
centre in Lahore was set up at the University of Engineering and Technology
(UET).
KEMU vice chancellor Prof Mumtaz Hassan visited the centre and
praised Admissions Committee convener Prof Akram Tahir and the UET
administration for the arrangements.
The other four examination centres
were set up at Siddiqui Public High School, Rawalpindi, Bahauddin Zakariya
University College of Engineering and Technology, Multan, Islamia University
Engineering College, Bahawalpur and the Agricultural University,
Faisalabad.
The paper had 220 questions arranged in three sections with
the following distribution – 70 questions on biology, 60 questions on physics,
60 questions on chemistry and 30 questions on English. The test was prepared
from the FSc course outline. Candidates will get five marks for each correct
answer and one mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
There are 2,064
seats for medical students and 129 for BDS students across the
province.
The results of the test will be announced on November 6 and
admissions forms will be collected on November 8. The final score for admission
will be made up of 70 percent from the FSc score and 30 percent from the entry
