Punjab University symposium concludes
Lahore, Oct 25: FIRST two-day symposium, organized by Punjab University Department of
Microbiology and Molecular Genetics on "Genomics, Proteomics, Metabolomics:
Recent trends in Biotechnology", concludes at Shaikh Zayed Islamic Centre
auditorium, New Campus, on Wednesday. Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof.
Dr. Muhammad Arif Butt presided the concluding ceremony.
Addressing the
occasion, PU VC Dr Arif Butt said the concept of science should not be limited
only in the laboratories but it must be used for the welfare of human beings. He
stressed for organizing such symposiums from time to time so that researchers
can benefit.
The VC appreciated the role of Chairperson of Department
Prof. Dr. Shahida Hasnain for conducting a successful symposium. Earlier,
Chairperson Prof Dr Shahida Hasnain presented her welcome address and presented
the purposes of the symposium and performance of the department. In the end,
certificates were distributed among the participants of the symposium. The News
