PU lecture on UN: Changes and Prospects
LAHORE, Oct 26: THE Punjab University Co-curricular Committee arranged a lecture
on "UN: Changes and Prospects" in connection with United Nations Day Celebration
at New Campus on Thursday. PU Registrar Dr Naeem Khan, on behalf of Vice
Chancellor, announced the proclamation of United Nations Day. Ali Raza, student
of Mass Com, Miss Beenish, student of Institute of Communication Studies, Dr
Ambreen Javed, Chairperson Political Science Department, Dr Muhammad Hafeez
Director Institute of Social and Cultural Studies and Prof Dr Mughees-ud-Din
Sheikh, dean faculty of Behavioral Sciences, spoke on the occasion. Prof Dr
Mughees-ud-Din, who is the chief guest, said we are not in a position to deny
the importance of UN in 21st century. 'UN, working as an organization, is doing
a brilliant job, particularly UNICEF and WHO.
Children rights are very important
but they do not have any lobby or organization. Talking about the violation of
Children rights, he said more than 300000 child prostitutes are working in USA',
PU press statement quoted Dr Mughees as saying. He also mentioned the violation
of human rights in Bosnia, Palestine and Kashmir. He said there is no definition
of terrorism in UN on which all the countries are agreed and we should not be
involved in the propaganda manipulated by western critics. The News
