Environmental award for KU Professor
Karachi, Sept 16: Prof Dr S.M Saifullah, an eminent HEC scholar serving at the Department of
Botany, University of Karachi, has been awarded the prestigious 'Zayed
International Prize for the Environment 2005'.
He was one of the many
experts from different countries of the world who participated in the global
Millennium Ecosystem Assessment sponsored by the United Nations. One of the most
prestigious environmental awards in the world, the Zayed International Prize for
the Environment is awarded every two years.
It endeavours to promote
sustainable development through environmental protection. Dr Saifullah's
research and findings helped assess the condition and trends of the ecosystem of
the world, their services to mankind and also scientific ways and means to
manage their sustainability. The News
