FAPUASA calls for strike on 26th
LAHORE, Sept 23: The Higher Education Commission
(HEC) was not giving serious attention to the problem faced by teachers and
Federation Of Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA),
FAPUASA president Mumtaz Ahmed Salik said on Friday.
Talking to Daily
Times after the Association's meeting with an HEC body, Mumtaz said that their
demands had been handed over to the HEC.
He said all classes would be
boycotted in public universities on September 26 and if their demands were
unmet, they would protest in Islamabad.
HEC executive director Dr Sohail
H Naqvi said that notice of the demands of FAPUASA had been taken. He said the
problem regarding upgrade of teacher would be solved soon. He said FAPUASA was
being unreasonable with their protest and all issues could be solved through
discussion. Daily Times
