Students hold demo against female classes
PESHAWAR, Sept 27: Students of Islamia College Peshawar (ICP)
Wednesday held a protest demonstration in front of the Press Club building
against starting of female classes in the ICP. "We will never allow co-education
in the college instead the government should increase seats in Jinnah College
for Women", said the protesting students of the Islami Jamiat Tulba ICP
Peshawar.
The protestors were holding placards inscribed with slogans against co
education. The office bearers of ICP in their addresses on the occasion opined
that starting female classes in the ICP was a step towards co-education as
except for the classes, which will be separately held, rest all the facilities
would be shared by the male and female students like the labs, library etc. It
merits a mention here that, management of the ICP has allocated fifty seats for
girl students in the ICP for which interviews were scheduled to be held on
September 26. APP
