Students of JMC wants to be accommodated
PESHAWAR, Sept 17: Students of Jinnah Medical College (JMC)
along with Human Rights Development Organization on Saturday staged protest
demonstration against the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) for
cancellation the college's registration and demanded that students of the JMC
must be accommodated in registered medical colleges.
The students blocked the
Shirsha Suri Road in front of Peshawar Press club and demanded of the federal
health minister and governor NWFP to save the future of 170 students of Jinnah
Medical Colleges from complete darkness. They were of the opinion that in the
past the students of non-registered colleges were accommodated in PMDC
registered colleges the council initiated action against the non-affiliated
medical colleges.
Students who were carrying placards and banners chanted
slogans against the PMDC and remarked that they have spent thousands of rupees
and paid the tuition fee and other dues to the college in advance but despite
they had been punished and their future was put at stake however the college was
still conducting tests and interviews for the new admissions in medical. "Where
we go, why we have been punished, save our future and accommodate the students
of Jinnah Medical College in PMDC registered medical institutes," were the
slogans chanted by male and female students who were quite annoyed with the
action of PMDC. PPI
