KU reopens today after 4 student deaths
KARACHI, Sept 17: Strict security measures have been taken at the
University of Karachi, which will reopen on September 17. The university stayed
closed on Friday and Saturday to mourn the death of four of its students who
died in an attack outside the campus on Thursday.
This was announced
Sunday by a senior official of the institution. He said that only bona fide
students and employees will be allowed entry after proper identification, and no
outsiders will be allowed in. Students have been advised to display their
university ID cards on entry and while they are on campus.
The
university's main entrance, the Silver Jubilee Gate, will be used exclusively
for pedestrians and no vehicle will be allowed to enter the campus from this
gate. Permitted vehicles can use the Maskan, Staff Town and Metroville gates.
