Students to accord rousing welcome to Nawaz: PML-N
ISLAMABAD, Sep 3: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Sunday
announced that an overwhelming number of students would accord a rousing welcome
to their leader Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at Islamabad Airport on September 10 and
thwart any possible attempt by the government to hijack this historic
event.
PML-N Senior Vice President Syed Zafar Ali Shah said this while
talking to media persons here. He said Muslim Student Federation (a student body
of PML-N) and student organisations of other All Parties Democratic Movement
(APDM) component parties would take part in the event. He said students would
thwart possible attempt of government to sabotage arrangements of welcome to
Nawaz Sharif like imposition of section 144 on September 10. Shah said caravans
from different parts of the country would start reaching Islamabad on September
8. He said they had started campaign to mobilise common man across the country.
Shah said on September 10 national flags would be hoisted on every house of the
capital and buildings would be illuminated.
Answering to a question, Shah
said the government was spreading disinformation that PML-N top leaders would be
sent back once they landed at Islamabad Airport. He warned the government that
any attempt to stop Nawaz Sharif from entering Pakistan would not be tolerated
and in such a case the government would be responsible for the law and order
situation. Comparing arrival of Shahbaz and his deport in 2004 with arrival of
Nawaz at Islamabad airport on September 10 Shah said things had changed, as now
judiciary was free. Under the clear directions of chief justice of Pakistan that
no hurdles should be created in return of exiled PML-N leaders, he said, adding,
"I hope that the government will not try to stop Nawaz." Talking about
Benazir-Musharraf deal, he said though Benazir was holding talks with Musharraf
she would be welcomed to APDM. Daily times
