Pindi Govt postgraduate colleges lack teachers
ISLAMABAD, Sept 20: MA and M Sc classes in the government postgraduate
colleges of Rawalpindi are coming to a close day by day due to non-recruitment
of new teachers there for many years. It is expected that the classes of MA
English, MA Urdu, MA Persian, MA Arabic, M Sc Geology and M Sc Economics will
end at the Post Graduate College in the coming years. The classes of MA English
and MA Urdu in Rawalpindi Satellite Town Government Post Graduate College have
been terminated completely due to retirement of teachers.
Only four post
graduate colleges have been running under the supervision of the Punjab
Government for the last 40 years in Rawalpindi city including Asghar Mall Post
Graduate College for Girls, Satellite Town Post Graduate College for Women,
Waqaru Nisa Post Graduate College for Women and Post Graduate College for Boys.
The retirement of all senior teachers in aforementioned colleges are approaching
and they are expected to retire within one and a half years. According to
sources, 35 senior teachers and head of departments will retire within two years
while new recruitment have not been carried out for the last four years. Daily Times
