Rs26m projects launched in Sindh University
HYDERABAD, Sept 2: Projects at a cost of Rs26 million funded by Higher
Education Commission (HEC) in the University of Sindh were inaugurated, here on
Friday.
Among these projects was a well-equipped tissue culture/molecular
biology laboratory at the department of physiology which cost Rs11 million and
has been jointly funded by the university and the HEC.
The founder
faculty member of the department and former vice-chancellor of the university,
Dr Abdul Qadir Ansari inaugurated the laboratory.
Dr Ansari also
inaugurated the extension of the department constructed at Rs7.532 million cost
funded by HEC.
Vice-Chancellor Sindh University Mazharul Haq Siddiqui,
former vice-chancellor Sindh Agriculture University Dr A.Q Mughal, pro-vice
chancellor Dr Rafia Ahmed Shaikh, deans, heads of different centres, institutes
and departments of the university attended the ceremony.
Dr Ansari
underlined the need for research on the occasion. He said that it is most
essential that the university teachers should utilise the available facilities
and train their students to serve the society.-Dawn
