IJT delegation meets SM Zafar to discuss student unions
LAHORE, Sep 5: A delegation of Islami Jamiat-i-Taliba (IJT) students
called on senator SM Zafar at latter's office on Tuesday to discuss the ban on
student unions in educational institutions. According to a press release, the
delegation comprised of IJT Punjab nazim Allah Buxh Laghari, Lahore nazim Hafiz
Muhammad Hassan, Lahore general secretary Abdul Basit and central information
secretary Hafiz Muhammad Usman.
The central information secretary said the
delegation briefly discussed the role of student unions in educational
institutions in Pakistan and the West. The delegation showed to SM Zafar the
Supreme Court's orders, wherein the court had directed the government to lift
the ban on student unions, he said. Daily times
