Scholars urged to promote research culture in varsities
HYDERABAD, Sep 7: Karachi University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza has
urged the student body and faculty to play their role in developing research
culture in the universities.
He said this while addressing the
inauguration session of the 2nd International Seminar on Analytical Sciences
organised by the National Centre of Excellence in Analytical Chemistry,
University of Sindh, on Thursday at a local hotel. The three-day seminar is
being attended by scholars from Greece, Iran, South Africa, India and
Pakistan.
Dr Qasim appreciated the projects and research activities being
undertaken at the centre. He said interaction between local and international
scholars is possible through such seminars and conferences. University of Sindh
Vice-Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, who presided over the inaugural session,
said the centre has played a pivotal role in the fields of biomedical
applications, environmental monitoring, quality control and industrial
sciences.
Chemical Society of Pakistan Secretary-General Dr Khalid
Hussain said nations progress in the world through knowledge. The director of
the centre, Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal Bhanger, welcomed the guests and threw light
