Danish Schools to bring revolution in education
Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif has said that Danish Schools will prove to be a milestone in the development of education sector and in the first phase, all the resources should be utilised for the completion of 14 Danish Schools within eight months. Maximum funds will be provided for the project, he added.

He expressed these views while addressing a high level meeting held to review implementation of Danish Schools System Project at Chief Minister's Secretariat here on Tuesday. MNA Rana Mehmoodul Hassan, Member Provincial Assembly Asif Manzoor Mohal, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning & Development, Secretary Schools, MD Danish Schools System, Yousuf Kamal, Chairman Taskforce Raja Anwar and concerned officers were present on the occasion.

He said schools would help equipping the students of backward and far-flung areas with the latest knowledge. He said that with the setting up of these prestigious institutions, the poor will realise that they have as much right over the resources of the country as elite and high standard educational facilitates are available to them at par with elite of the big cities of the province.

He said that Danish schools will not only be the centers of education but will also be a masterpiece of architecture. He said that education department will not interfere in the project of Danish Schools system and teachers, their training, curriculum and other affairs of these schools will be handled in a transparent manner through board of governors comprising professionals and capable persons.

He said that experienced and trustworthy contractors should be selected for the construction of Danish schools who could ensure their quality building. He said that the contractors of the past tenure ruined the development projects and Asian Development Bank has taken back the funds of eight billion rupees due to criminal negligence in the accomplishment of development projects and now the government has to bear these additional expenses. He said that Danish Schools Project should be completed speedily and besides land escaping, maximum samplings should be planted there. He said that construction of Danish schools for boys and girls should be started at the same time and their hostels should also be of best quality.
