Dartington College of Arts
Based in Totnes in Devon, Dartington College of Arts is one of the few specialist art colleges to offer undergraduate and postgraduate degrees through practice-led learning methods. It offers degrees in all areas of performance and theatre in a quiet rural setting. Degrees are validated by the University of Plymouth.
Dartington has been an international centre for the arts since the 1920s, although the college was not founded until 1961. It's a small college, with around 500 undergraduates. While the college says it has no desire to increase its student numbers it could shortly be moving out of its historic home - Dartington Hall - and is in discussions with University College Falmouth, the University of Plymouth and Torbay council about a possible relocation in 2009-10. |
