Glasgow Caledonian University
|
With more than 15,000 students, Glasgow Caledonian University is Scotland's most popular modern university, receiving a third of Scottish undergraduate applications. Its campus is in the Cowcaddens area, close to the city centre, and the Saltire Centre is the first university building of its kind to integrate all learning and student services: study spaces, a student services mall and a learning cafe, across four floors. Class sizes are small. Widening access is central to Glasgow Caledonian's philosophy: almost 30% of young full-time undergraduates come from a background where higher education is not the norm. Recruitment is buoyant, with 5.5 applications for each place. Like the city it is in, its confidence is high. |
