At Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), graduate skills development and work-related learning are now integral to all undergraduate degrees. In addition, the university's new graduate development centre will enable students to develop higher "world of work" skills, as identified by an advisory panel of leading employers. LJMU is currently investing around £100m in campus developments, including a £23.5m art and design academy, which will open in 2008 when Liverpool becomes European Capital of Culture. Hardly surprising, then, that the university remains a popular choice with a multinational group of potential students. Liverpool's a full-of-fun city in which to be a student and it's fairly cheap for a big urban centre. And with three large campuses in the city, you're never far from an LJMU base. |

Fees
£3,070 a year for all full-time undergraduate students.
Bursaries
Students on a full maintenance grant will receive £1,025 a year; £410 a year for those receiving partial grant. Additional support is also available through other university hardship funds. Six awards of £10,000 a year for academically gifted students. Other academic scholarships of £1,000 a year are targeted at students from under-represented groups and in recognition of outstanding academic merit. Sports scholarships are also available.
Accommodation
Guaranteed for first years, including those who apply through clearing. Self-catering halls range from £59 to £82 a week.
