North-East Wales Institute of Higher Education
Based in Wrexham, north Wales, the North-East Wales Institute of Higher Education (NEWI) is based at two campuses: Plas Coch, which has a students' union, a "student village" and a new sports centre; and the school of art and design, on the other side of the railway station nearer the town centre.
A full member of the University of Wales since 2004, NEWI attracts about 2,500 full-time and 2,000 part-time students. In 2004 more than 90% of graduates available for work were in work or full-time study after six months of graduation. |
