Queen Mary gives you the best of both worlds - life on a contained campus, but in the middle of a huge city. It's a nice combination, enhanced by the fact that friendliness and reassurance are watchwords for the university when dealing with new students. Queen Mary is located in the Mile End area of east London: not the most salubrious part, but handy for town and with a certain charm all of its own. It's a multicultural area, so the university fits right in: 20% of its students are from overseas. As well as having a good standard of teaching and research, its one of the best universities for student employability - and graduate starting salaries. |

Fees
£3,070 for full-time undergraduate -courses in 2007-08.
Bursaries
£1,024 a year for students who qualify for full grant; £819 for those who qualify for partial grant. £4,000 a year for students who qualify for full grant and also achieve three A grades at A-level.
Accommodation
43% of first-years live in university accommodation at a cost of £81 to £108 a week for self-catering accommodation. The average cost of privately rented accommodation in the local area is £90 to £100 a week.
