Queen's University, Belfast
|
Queen's is one of the UK's top universities, with a good academic reputation, especially in medicine and engineering. The campus is located in south Belfast, only a 15-minute walk from the city centre, beside the lovely surroundings of the botanic gardens and the Ulster Museum. But Queen's is not only physically central to Belfast; it takes its role as an important part of the community seriously, too. One small way that this shows is in the arts provision - great for students, but also for residents. There's the annual Belfast festival at Queen's, a film festival, an art gallery and Northern Ireland's only arthouse cinema. It all puts Queen's at the heart of what is rapidly becoming one of Europe's most exciting and trendy cities. A good time to get in on the ground floor. |
