Ravensbourne College
Apart from being the higher education institution with the most memorable web address - www.rave.ac.uk - Ravensbourne is a single-campus college of design and communication, based in 18 acres of parkland to the south-east of London, near Chislehurst in Kent.
Courses are offered within two faculties - design, where courses include fashion, interior design, design for interaction and product design; and communications media, where courses include broadcasting, graphic and sound design, and animation.
Undergraduate degree programmes are validated by the University of Sussex. |
Fees
Fees were £3,000 per year for full-time BA students in 2006-07. Students on the two-year foundation degree or one-year certificate in higher education paid £2,600.
Bursaries
Students paying £3,000 or more in fees and in receipt of a maintenance grant are eligible for a £300 bursary. There is a £300 "Thames Gateway" bursary for students from specific schools, and up to 70 bursaries for "talented or gifted" undergraduates (up to 60 worth £500 and 10 worth £1,000). There are also travel and work experience bursaries.
Accommodation
Ravensbourne has 24 town houses and one bungalow on campus, housing 100 students. Priority is given to international students in their first year of study, then to students who live furthest from the college. Rent ranges from £64 to £75 per week including bills. In the private sector, rents are around £250 a month.
