Scottish Agricultural College
The Scottish Agricultural College (SAC) offers undergraduate courses designed to help people make best use of the land - from agriculture to business studies, environment, conversation, landscaping and tourism.
Aside from its main college campus at Edinburgh, there are two other rural campuses on estates near Aberdeen and Ayr; that said, the college has plans to move from these over the next two to four years. The college also has research farms located across Scotland. |
Fees
Full-time students on undergraduate degree courses will pay £1,725 in 2007-08.
Bursaries
Scottish students benefit from a range of support from the Scottish executive - but SAC itself also has hardship funds and a limited "centenary bursary" of up to £2,000.
Accommodation
In Edinburgh, nearly all first-year students can be accommodated in University of Edinburgh halls, on a first-come first-served basis (about £78 a week self-catered, £134 a week catered); in the private sector, rents are around £200-400 a month. In Aberdeen and Ayr, students arriving on campus for the first time are guaranteed a place in halls; costs are £63 to £70 a week in Aberdeen and £53 a week in Ayr.
