Thames Valley University
TVU is based on three campuses - Ealing, Reading and Slough - which are all in the Thames valley. Hence the name. It's not too far to go to get to the wild and crazy heart of London, but life around here is a bit more sedate and manageable. There a large, mixed student body, with lots of mature, part-time and ethnic minority students. Most are local and often commute from home. It's only recently that TVU could provide any accommodation for students; the fact that it now can suggests it's got an eye on a bigger and brighter future. Thames Valley University
