Chester is a handsome, historical town in the north-west of England - and thankfully the majority of its residents don't disport themselves in the manner of the local soap, Hollyoaks. The appeal of the place might be revealed in the fact that around a third of the students at the university come from the area. They might also be attracted by the wide array of subjects - how about natural hazard management or Muslim youth work? There are two campuses - one in Chester and one in Warrington. A new £2m students union building is expected on the Chester campus and Warrington has a new lifelong learning centre opening in 2007. Both centres are student friendly, manageable and close to Manchester for some big nights out. |

Fees
£3,070 for students on full time undergraduate courses in 2007.
Bursaries
In 2007-8, the maximum University of Chester bursary will be £1,000. Entitlement is based on household income. Students with a partial maintenance grant will be entitled to £500.
Accommodation
Approximatey 75% of first-year students requiring accommodation are housed in university halls of residence. Weekly prices range from £48 to £111, depending on the form of accommodation.
