University of Huddersfield
|
"To boldly go where no student has gone before." Declaim that on the Huddersfield city centre campus and you'll soon be pulled up on your split infinitives by a fellow student, or perhaps by the actor Patrick Stewart - the bald one off Star Trek - who is actively involved in the life of the university of which he is chancellor. Huddersfield is a pleasant town close to both Manchester and Leeds. The campus straddles the old canal and there's a new £4m student union building. A new creative arts building is planned for 2007, too, which will enhance its strengths in performing arts. Courses are modular and many offer the option of a year abroad or at least working in industry. |
