Here is an interesting fact for you: the University of Northampton was the third university to be founded in England, following hot on the heels of Oxford and Cambridge. It only survived the cut-throat world of medieval academia for four short years, however, in the early 1260s. Still, its heir is doing pretty well. 10,000 students attend courses on two city campuses. Many of them come from the local areas. The university has seen a substantial investment in campus facilities during the past two years, with a further £80m planned over the next eight. The students' union regularly has live entertainment at both its campuses. Northampton is a large market town with some pleasant green spaces and architecture. It's around an hour by car and train from London and Birmingham. |

Undergraduate students from the UK with household incomes of up to £38,330 receive a bursary worth between £500 and £1,000 a year.
Accommodation
Guaranteed for first-year students putting Northampton as their first choice. Prices range from £35.12 a week for a small, standard twin room to £72.82 for an ensuite room. All halls are self-catering.
