University of Plymouth
|
Plymouth is one of the largest universities in the country, and certainly the largest in the south west, with around 24,000 undergraduates. It's currently investing heavily in its future: a £35m arts and community complex will open this year, with further developments to come in 2008. The main campus is within easy walking distance of the city centre, and is a great sunny seaside spot. Given its proximity to some of the country's loveliest beaches, watersports are popular with students - but then so is sitting by the sea eating an ice cream. The location also plays a part in studies here: courses relating to marine life and the oceans are particularly well regarded. And where else could you find a degree in surfing? |
 |
Fees
£3,070 for full-time undergraduate courses in 2007-08.
Bursaries
£305 for those in receipt of a full grant, and a wide range of further bursaries and scholarships are also available.
Accommodation
The university guarantees all students accommodation - not just for their first year but throughout their course. All accommodation is managed or closely inspected by the university. Weekly cost in self-catered halls: £68 to £96. Weekly cost in private accommodation: £50 to £100.
