University of Stirling
|
Stirling's campus is regularly described as one of the most beautiful in the world, set in 300 acres at the foot of the Ochil Hills. It boasts its own loch and the Robert Adam-designed Airthrey Castle. Stirling, three miles away, is also pretty, with a castle and historical old town. It's the smallest city in Scotland, but still the local centre for shopping and nightlife. There are excellent facilities for sport and a recently refurbished arts centre on campus. There are around 6,000 students. A significant proportion of them are from the local area, but there's also a good representation of international students, too. Stirling was the first university in the UK to introduce the acclaimed semester system and is proud of the flexibility of its degrees. With no faculty boundaries students can choose from one of the widest variety of subject combinations. |
