University of Strathclyde
Strathclyde emphasises "useful learning" by tailoring degrees and teaching towards the requirements of future employers. It also takes a holistic approach to university life - acknowledging students come to university to do more than just learn, and encouraging them to get involved in student activities or check out what Glasgow has to offer. There are over 20,000 students, split between the central John Anderson campus (where many students also live) and another in the west of the city. The students' union building is one of the largest in the country, though Glasgow also has plenty to offer, from swanky bars to hushed art galleries and plenty of green spaces.
