First level Nurse
A first-level nurse is called a registered or professional nurse in most countries. A second-level nurse, often called an enrolled, vocational, practical nurse or nurse assistant, is not eligible to be licensed as a registered nurse in the U.S., and therefore, is not eligible for the Certification Program.
Required Documents from Pakistani Nurses
Academic course work: Clearly legible photocopies of all original documents, showing both the front and back, are acceptable. All documents for post secondary studies must be issued by the university or autonomous college. Attested copies and documents issued by affiliated colleges (College Records or College Transcripts) are not acceptable. (Note: At this time ICD will not accept applications for Teacher Certification for the State of California.)
In addition, the state of Maryland requires that applicants submit a full Course-by-Course evaluation to be considered for employment. At this time, to the best of our knowledge all other State Departments of Education require a General Statement to be considered for employment. However, many require that the applicant obtain the full Course-by-Course evaluation once they have been extended a job offer. Therefore, all non-California and Maryland applicants should submit every document needed to allow us to conduct the full Course-by-Course evaluation with their initial application so they can avoid delays should the state require such an evaluation at a later date. Applicants requesting a credentials evaluation for any state other than Maryland should only request a General Statement when submitting their application for credentials evaluation. The documents required for Pakistani-educated applicants include:
Secondary Education (Please submit as many as possible)
Secondary School Certificate
Higher Secondary Certificate

All non-English language documents must be accompanied by a certified, word-for-word translation, and ICD reserves the right to reject any translation or require a separate translation at its discretion.
