MBBS Admission at Zaiuddin Medical University

General Criteria for Admission
The general criteria for students seeking admission to MBBS Degree Programme are as follows:
  • Minimum age requirement of 17 years at the time of admission.
  • Minimum 60% marks in Pre-Medical Group of Higher Secondary Certificate Examination held by a recognized Board of Intermediate Education in Pakistan.
  • With GCE Cambridge/London, 'Advanced level' (A level), American High School Diploma, and other equivalent Certificates or Diplomas, the formula for equivalence with HSC of Pakistan Board is as per guidelines of Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC).
  • For "A" level the equivalence formula is as follows:
    A grade = 85%
    B grade = 75%
    C grade = 65%
    D grade = 55%
    E grade = 45%
  • Students with American High School Certificate are also required to submit SAT-II with a minimum recommended score of 600 in subjects of Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics.
  • Local Students are required to take a written test (MCQs) and appear for an interview. Overseas students are not required to take the written test but are required to appear for the interview.
  • Proficiency in English Language, both in written and verbal expression is required.
Achievement Test
The University conducts the test which consists of multiple choice questions of various types. The test consists of four to five sections designed to assess each applicant's performance in the areas of
    (a) Physics
    (b) Chemistry
    (c) Biology
    (d) English and
    (e) General Knowledge

The level of questions in sections of Biology, Physics and Chemistry correspond to that expected at the end of Intermediate Examination (12th Year) in Pakistan.

Fee structure for 2004-5 admissions
Tuition fee for the entire 5 years MBBS Programme remains the same.

Fee for Local Residents  

Admission fee:

Rs.50,000/-

Tuition fee: Rs. 2,50,000/-Per Year  (1st and 2nd Year)
Rs. 3,00,000/-Per Year  (3rd, 4th and Final Year)

Fee for Overseas Applicants

Admission fee:

US$ 2,500/-

Tuition fee: US$ 8,000/-Per Year  (1st and 2nd Year)
US$ 10,000/-Per Year  (3rd, 4th and Final Year)
