Entry requirement or Admission Details for The City School  (TCS)

Registration
Parents wishing to admit a child must first register their child for admission test by completing the prescribed form at the school office and receiving an appointment for the test and interview.

A fee is payable at the time of registration. If the child is granted admission, the same amount is adjusted against the admission fee but is otherwise non-refundable. Registration does not confirm or guarantee admission.

The class for which a child is tested will be determined according to his/her age as at.
  • 30th July for Punjab and Sindh
  • 28th / 29th February for Baluchistan


Admissions Requirements & Criteria
The applicant must have attained a minimum of ‘B’ grade in the G.C.E. O Level Examination. In English and the subjects selected for ‘A’ Level study.
  •  Interview by Admission Committee.
  •  Personal Profile.
  •  Recommendations and Confidential Report from head of  previous school.
  •  All components of the application and admission process add  up to the criteria on which the credentials of the prospective  students are evaluated.
  •  Original birth Certificate.
  •  Two passport-size photographs for the school identity card.
  •  Report card and school leaving certificate from previous  school.
NOTE: Merit will be the sole criterion for admission.

Admission Test and Interview
In addition to the test a formal interview with both the parents is taken by the head of the school.

Nursery-Junior I
For these classes an informal individual assessment test is taken combined with an interview with both parents. The absence of one parent from the interview may mean the application being considered invalid
  •  The names of selected candidates will be displayed on  the school notice board on a given date or conveyed by  post.
The decision of the school regarding admissions cannot be challenged in any way and shall be final.

Junior III
  • Applicants for Junior II to Prep II (class VII) have to sit for written  test in three subjects: English, Urdu and Mathematics.
  • Applicants for prep III (Class VIII) and above have to sit for a written test in four subjects: English, Urdu, Mathematics and Science.
  • An applicant must come properly prepared with pencil, eraser, sharpener and ruler.
  • The test papers are not set from any particular textbooks or syllabus but are of a general nature designed to assess the attainment level of the applicant.
  • While the test papers will not be shown to the parents they may be informed of the percentages obtained.
  • A candidate caught cheating during the admission test will not be eligible for admission.

Transfer Facilities
The City school of Pakistan as a nation wide network offers the facility of easily arranged transfers from one city to another.
  1. Temporary transfer; which is for up to a period of 3 months. The parents have to pay the fee for the period of transfer in the parent branch and avail the facility.
  2. Permanent transfer; In this case a form is filled by the parents and a transfer fee of Rs.1000 is charged by the school and the child may be transferred to any city where we have our branch.

Withdrawal
In case of withdrawal, the security deposits are refundable after adjusting the school dues. One month's notice in writing must be given, or one month's fee must be paid in lieu of notice.

The school-leaving certificate will be issued when all school dues are cleared and the student has completed at least one academic year.


Fee Procedure
  1. The full admission fee is payable by all new entrants. Existing TCS students will not be required to pay Admission Fee, but will pay the balance of the stipulated Security Deposit.
  2. THE ADMISSION FEE is payable in SEPTEMBER, plus the TUITION FEE for the same month.
  3. Thereafter, fees are paid EVERY TWO MONTHS, (beginning with October - November), for the entire period for the enrolment, and for the full calendar months involved.
  4. At the time of admission A SECURITY DEPOSIT IS PAYABLE and refundable only when the student withdraws.
  5. The admission fee is not refundable.
  6. In the event of withdrawal, one month's notice is required, in writing, or one month's fee is deducted in lieu of the notice period.
  7. Fee payment along with clearance from library and laboratory is required for issuance of Admit Card and school transcripts, recommendations and other related documents.
  8. Staff concession will be granted as per Service Rules.
  9. The school fees and other charges which are payable every two months and for all twelve months of the year are deposited in the bank where The City School operates its account.
