Man turns animal, reads IJT handbill
LAHORE, 28 April(Daily Times): According to Darwin's theory of
evolution, animals become human after development, but according to 'the army's
theory of evolution', man after development becomes animal, reads a handbill
distributed by the IJT at the Punjab University (PU) Jamia mosque after Friday
The handbill sarcastically says that thanks to the 'untiring'
efforts of the PU authorities over the last eight years, the university has
reached a peak of development. It says that PU has the 'honour' of awarding
degrees to female dancers, singers and clowns under the name of performing arts.
It also claims that PU's Pharmacy department has been victimised and its
research culture has ended. "This is now a new department of vulgarity and
obscenity," the handbill reads.
The handbill alleges that a deputy
registrar quit the university after falling victim to the 'Army Theory of
Evolution'. It adds that other officials are also trying to quit the university.
" PU students will not let them leave without accountability," the handbill
Students said that IJT activists started
distributing the handbills to students and teachers soon after the Friday
prayers, and demanded that they reflect on how an ex-army official had served
the PU in his capacity as vice chancellor. Kashif, an IJT spokesman, confirmed
the distribution of almost three thousand handbills.
PU registrar Prof Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan said the university had always
taken stern action against people involved in harassing innocent students who
come to the university to learn. He said IJT activists were trying to create
'pressure' so they could 'bargain' with the university over the expulsion of IJT
activists. Dr Khan said there would be no mercy for gangsters in the university.
He also dismissed reports of PU staff planning on quitting.
"Dr.Khan is the real ********. Jamatees doing excellent job at jamia by telling every one what r they, either in uniform or out of it. the whole country experiencing it and students too at many more universities."
