'Lincoln Corner' opened at AJK University

Muzaffarabad, April 27(Daily Times): Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan and the US Embassy's Acting Deputy Chief of Mission James H Williams inaugurated on Thursday the US-funded 'Lincoln Corner' at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The Lincoln Corner is a resource centre that offers information on the United States, its culture, economy, politics, society, history, education and people.

AJK PM said that the US government had shown interest in promoting higher education in Pakistan and the opening of the Lincoln Corner in Muzaffarabad was another step in the same direction, adding that it would be a gift of knowledge from the Americans to the Kashmiris. The event was postponed for over 18 months due to the earthquake of October 2005, Williams said.
