IJT blames VC for low research standards

LAHORE, April 30(Daily Times): A number of Punjab University (PU) students on Sunday protested against the vice chancellor for 'deteriorating' standard of research of the MPhil and PhD programmes and demanded an end to plagiarism.

According to a press statement, IJT organised the demonstration outside the Lahore Press Club in which PhD scholars participated and chanted slogans against the vice chancellor. They alleged that by appointing a matriculated vice chancellor the standard of education and research at PU had deteriorated. They alleged that research scholars were facing problems and demanded the Higher Education Commission (HEC) form a committee to investigate the matter. They also demanded the removal of the vice chancellor.
