CAP Committee 2011 placement forms

Date for placement forms extended
Karachi, Aug 22: The deadline for selling and submitting of placement forms for admission in six faculties, including Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, Computer Science, Commerce, Humanities, and Home Economics in 132 government colleges (67 male and 65 female) and 24 Higher Secondary Schools (12 male and 12 female), have been extended to August 25, the Chairman, Centralised Admission Policy (CAP) Committee-2011, Professor Dr Nasir Ansar said.

The brochure is available against a payment of Rs60 and available at 41 branches of the Allied Bank Limited in 18 towns of the city, he further said.

As many as 100015 seats are available in six different faculties, including Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, Computer Science, Commerce, Humanities, and Home Economics. Meanwhile, the number of seats could be increased in the colleges, if there is any need in this regard, he added.

The deadline has been extended owing to the unavoidable unusual circumstances in the city, officials at education department said. Students are encouraged to apply at earliest, they added. The news

Karachi University BA, BCom exam forms
Karachi: The University of Karachi (KU) has announced that the examination forms of BA part-I private and BCom part-I private can be submitted till Sept 15 without any surcharge. According to a statement issued here on Sunday, the candidates of BA part-I private can submit the examination forms with a bank voucher of Rs 2,275, while candidates of BCom part-I private can submit their examination form with a bank voucher of Rs 2,650 till Sept 15. FUUAST announces fee submission date
Karachi: Registrar Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) Prof Dr Qamar-ul-Haq on Saturday announced that all students, who submitted admission forms for MPhil, MS, leading to Phd (Fresh programme) in Chemistry Department and had passed the National Testing Services (NTS), could submit their result of NTS and admission fee till August 22, 2011 so that the admission process could be completed. ppi

First medical university for women starts functioning
Nawabshah: The People's University for Medicines and Health Sciences, after up-gradation with an expenditure of Rs200 million, started functioning on Saturday. It was working earlier as Peopleís Medical College for Girls.

The first Vice-Chancellor Professor Azam Husain Yusufani said construction work of the buildings of the university on its 200 acres of land would commence after the sanctioned funds were released.

He said it would be the first Women Medical University. He said its different departments would function and the students would get the best education and research facilities. He said seats were also increased after the up-gradation.

The VC said apart from girl students from Pakistan, girls from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Sudan, Saudi Arabia and other countries were getting medical education. He said more than 6,000 people would get jobs in the university. The VC said paramedics departments would also be set up here where paramedics and nursing staff would get best education and training. He said the Sindh government has released Rs250 million out of an allocation of Rs500 million while the balance is expected to be released soon.

Prof Azam said the aim of the medical university is to provide more and more facilities to the girls studying here. He said the passing out lady doctors would serve in the field not only in Pakistan but also in other countries of the world. The news
