CIE O and A Level results 2012

CIE results to be announced in schools
Karachi, Aug 13: The Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) will announce results for O and A Level candidates today.

Candidates who appeared through a registered school can receive their results at their schools.

Meanwhile, private candidates can log on to the CIE website to find out their grades.

The number of candidates of this increasingly popular board of study is not revealed by the officials. However educated estimates reveal that each year the number is increasing.

The CIE is the world's largest provider of international education programmes and qualifications for 519 year olds. More than 9,000 schools in over 160 countries are part of the Cambridge learning community.

Int'l Youth Day programme
Karachi: The Department of Youth Affairs, Government of Sindh and Habib University Foundation organised an event on Sunday to celebrate the International Youth Day.

The celebration of this day was pioneered by the Youth Affairs Department and the Habib University Foundation collaboratively, and has been held for four consecutive years with great zeal. Minister for Youth Affairs, Syed Faisal Ali Subzwari, will be the chief guest of the event.

The theme of the day as declared by the United Nations Organisation (UNO) is 'Building a Better World: partnering with Youth'. The event will engage young people in reflecting on their key issues, and how they can overcome these challenges.

The event will also invite young achievers for acknowledgement of their talents and efforts. Various youth projects being run by the Department of Youth Affairs, Government of Sindh will also be showcased to share the information and success stories of these projects for youth development in Sindh.

Karach University Exam forms
Karachi:The University of Karachi on Sunday announced that the candidates of BA and B.Com, who recently enrolled themselves at KU, could submit their examination forms by September 17, 2012. The students of BA Part-I would pay Rs2,500, while students of B.Com Part-I are directed to submit Rs3,000 at bank counters located at the Silver Jubilee Gate of KU bythe due date, a KU official said.

KU semester fee schedule
Karachi: The University of Karachi (KU) on Sunday announced that the deadline to submit of examination forms and semester fee was extended till August 31, 2011.

The students of semester III, V, VII and IX could submit their examination forms, along with their semester and late fees of Rs1,000 by the due date, a KU official said.

Students could submit the fee at the KU branch of United Bank Limited and National Bank of Pakistan. They were directed to contact the bursar in the Administration Block for the clearance of their remaining dues, he further stated. University of Karachi announces BDS results
Karachi: University of Karachi here Wednesday announced the result of BDS Third Professional Annual Examination 2012, and BDS Final Professional Annual Exam 2012. In BDS Third Professional 302 candidates were registered and 301 appeared in the exam. Two hundred twenty-seven passed it, making 75.42 percent pass percentage. In BDS Final Professional 255 candidates were registered and 254 appeared in the exam. However, 151 candidates passed the exam, making 59.45 percent pass percentage.

BSEK notification
Karachi: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) on Sunday announced that applications for the scrutiny of scripts of Secondary School Certificate, Part II (Class X), Science Group, Annual Examinations 2012 would be accepted at the National Bank of Pakistan, Habib Bank Limited, Askari Commercial Bank and Board Office Booths up to September 3, 2012.

Benazir varsity students get stipends
Karachi: The Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari provided stipend of Rs. 2,000 per full academic month to the students who maintained minimum 80 per cent attendance, participated in the varsity programmes and showed good academic performance.

The varsity successfully completed its first (Spring-2012) semester of BS Business Administration, BS English, BS Computer Science and BS Commerce. Out of 135 students, 130 were declared successful and 104 were given stipends for the months of April, May and June, 2012.

A ceremony in this regard was held on Saturday in which stipends were given to the students by the Vice Chancellor, Dr. R.A. Shah.

Four Khairpur varsity employees suspended
Sukkur: The controller of examinations at the Shah Abdul Latif University in Khairpur suspended four staff members under the charge of misappropriating Rs5.1 million. Sources said that the staff under suspension had been charged with misappropriating the examination fee of 269 B.Ed and M.Ed candidates.Meanwhile, this correspondent made several attempts to contact the controller of examination of the university in question, but he did not respond to any of those attempts.
