British Council undergrad results likely this week

KARACHI, Aug 28: The undergraduate results for UK colleges via the British Council are expected within the week.

"We will be dispatching the undergraduate results to all colleges within the week, the result was due after Aug 25 but due to delays keeping in consideration a lot of factors, the results have been delayed till the last week of August or even early September," said a British Council representative, Usman.

Students are impatiently awaiting their final year results. Final-year LLB student Ammara Saeed said that she had already received an unconditional offer from the Bar. "The BVC starts September and if the results are delayed it leaves me with very little time to make arrangements for my visa, tickets and most importantly to find a place to stay while I'm there," she said, adding that her fellow students were just as worried. "We are stuck in limbo here; we have acceptance letters and we don't even know if we have cleared our papers yet."

Students have been bombarding their academic programme coordinators with phone calls. "A lot of rumors have been going around that the results have been dispatched to schools already, I assure you that is not the case, if it were so the students would have received their results by now," said Usman.

Final-year BSc student Summaira Ali said the entire experience was stressful. "They should set a date each year for all results so that there is no confusion," she suggested. The agony usually starts after August 15 as students wake up each day not knowing if the results are out or not.

Saad Siddiqui, another LLB second-year student said, "Some of us might have not done that well in our papers and might be dreading the result, for all the money we spend on these external programs with the registrations and continuing registrations for the universities, the British Council fee and tuition fee for our colleges, it's only fair that we get our results on a fixed date every year."

Usman explained that weather conditions may delay the results further but they will be given out to all cities at the same date in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Daily times
