Primary teachers tests: results delayed
Karachi, Aug 13: The Institute of Business Administration has failed to declare
results of tests for primary school teachers to the Sindh government despite the
fact that the tests were held in the last week of July, Secretary Education
Subhago Khan Jatoi said.
According to the schedule given by the
Sindh government, results of these written tests were to be announced on August
12 (Sunday). However, announcement of these results has been delayed for a
couple of days, Jatoi said, adding that Sunday being weekly off, the results
could not be announced.
It may be mentioned here that the contract for
holding tests for female candidates was given to IBA Sukkur and Cadet College,
Pakistan Steel.
Secretary Education, however, said that results of every
district have been prepared, except Karachi owing to what he said "monsoon rains
and other problems."
He was, however, hopeful that the results would be
announced within two to three days. About 126,000 candidates comprising both
male and females had applied from all over the province for the post of primary
teachers against 9,000 vacancies announced by the government. Such tests were
held after a gap of 15 years owing to a government ban on recruitment. The news
