Student faints due to heat
LAHORE, Aug 16: During the prize distribution ceremony of the Board of
Intermediate and Secondary Education, Anam Hashmi, a position holder, fainted
due to the scorching heat, it was learnt on Wednesday. Anam's mother said that her daughter went unconscious due to the power failure in the
hall. She said, "The board authorities are so 'ruthless' that they even did not
provide a glass of water to my daughter."
When Provincial Education minister
Mian Imran Masood was distributing prizes among students the electricity went
off. As the hall went out of space, the participants were forced to stay out
side the hall in sweltering heat. Last month journalists had boycotted the
ceremony organised by the board for position holders of matriculation. At that
ceremony a position holder was not given shield. According to the board
authorities they ran out of shields so the position holder was not given a
shield. Daily times
