Aga Khan Board announces SSC results
Karachi, July 07: The Aga Khan University Examination Board on Friday announced its annual Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Part I and II examination results.
Syed Wahaj Ahmed of Shahwilayat Public School with 90.27 percent of marks secured first position, and Sadaf Batool Rizvi of Al-Murtaza School got second position with 90.18 percent of marks. Two students, Sheharyar Farooq of Sultan Mohammad Shah Aga Khan School and Zahra Hussaini of Habib Girls School, shared third position with 90.09 percent of marks.
The overall passing rate this year was 84.4 percent with 11.35 percent of the students earning an A-1 Grade, while 26 percent secured an A Grade.
Teachers 'concerned' over training in Ramazan
Lahore: Punjab Teachers Union (PTU) has expressed concern over the decision of the Punjab government to hold teachers training workshops in the Holy month of Ramazan amid worst-ever energy crisis.
In a press release issued here on Friday, the PTU office bearers, including its central president Syed Sajjad Akbar Kazmi, Rana Liaqat Ali, Zafar Sindhu, Ch Sarfaraz and others, criticized the government decision of holding training workshop in the Holy month of Ramazan wherein severe hot weather was causing unrest among teachers community. They warned that such initiative could force teachers to go on strike.
They also asked the government not to demolish schools in the name of consolidation. They asked the authorities concerned to postpone the scheduled teachers training workshop at district levels, keeping in view the worst load shedding and hot weather.
UVAS date-sheets: University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Examinations Department, has issued the date-sheets of MBA morning & evening and BBA 1st Annual Examination, 2012 to be held from July 9, 2012.
PhD awarded: University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) has awarded a PhD degree to Zaka-ur-Rehman s/o Muhammad Tufail in the subject of Pharmacology & Toxicology after the approval of his research thesis titled ""Pharmacokinetics of Ketoprofen in domestic animals".
PU reschedules exams
Lahore: Punjab University Examination Department has rescheduled the BEd 2nd Annual Examination 2011 & Annual Examination 2012. The exams will commence from September 20, 2012 instead of August 29, 2012.

These exams include MPhil Molecular Biology (semester system), session 2010-12, MPhil (Pharmacy) Pharmacology, semester system, session 2008-10, MPhil (Pharmacy) Pharmaceutics, semester system, session 2008-10 and MPhil (Pharmacy) Pharmacognosy, semester system, session 2008-10.
PU teacher retires
