HEC provides four-fold increase in Internet Bandwidth

Karachi, July 14: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has decided to increase internet bandwidth efficiency four-fold, free of extra charges for universities.

This will provide universities with high speed internet access required for video conferencing in particular and for applications in general.

This facility is being provided to all public sector universities who have fibes access or digital radio systems at their disposal. For private sector institutions, the bandwidth will be doubled without any extra charges.

This huge increase in bandwidth has been made possible due to an education friendly approach on the part of PTCL senior management which has given special discounts to educational institutions.

The new increased bandwidth will become available between July and August and will greatly assist students and faculty members in acquiring fast access to the latest information on the internet. The news
