Teachers oppose transfers in vacations
LAHORE, July 9: The Punjab Teachers' Union (PTU) demanded not to transfer
teachers during summer vocations, said a press release on Sunday. The meeting of
PTU Lahore was held under the presidency of Rashid Ahmad Bhatti.
Rashid said
that according to the policy of the Education Department, no transfers could be
made during summer holidays but the rule was being violated. He said corrupt
officers of the Education Department should be removed. Duty hours of teachers
at display centers had been increased, but the allowances were not enough, he
