IIUI to hold 5th convocation on June 16
ISLAMABAD, June 15(Daily Times): The International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI)
will hold its 5th convocation on Saturday (June 16).
Senate Chairman
Mohammedmian Soomro will be chief guest on the occasion. The rehearsal for the
event was held on Thursday. Talking to reporters, Rector Dr Manzoor Ahmed and
President Dr Anwar Hussain Siddiq said several committees had been set up to
arrange the event.
He said 57 students would receive gold medals in the
convocation for their excellent academic performance, while 1,682 students would
receive their degrees. He said 47 of the graduating students were from the
faculty of Arabic language and Islamic civilisation, 220 from the faculty of
basic and applied sciences, 94 from the faculty of Islamic studies (Usuluddin),
117 from the faculty of languages, literature and humanities, 583 from the
faculty of management sciences, 288 from the faculty of school of economics, 217
from the faculty of Shariah and Law and 116 from the faculty of social sciences.
He said the university had over 8,561 male and 3,380 female students from 57
countries of the world.
