Governor approves 8-acre sports complex for PU

LAHORE, June 30(Daily Times): Governor Khalid Maqbool on Friday approved the construction of a Sports Complex on eight acres in the Punjab University's Quaid-e-Azam (new) Campus. This complex would be constructed on the land adjacent to Jinnah Hospital the PU playgrounds.

The decision was taken at a briefing held at the Governor's House. The decision was also taken that separate gymnasiums for girls and boys, weight training rooms, physiology labs, biomechanics lab, human performance labs, coaching centres and courts of tennis, squash and basketball would be constructed in the sports complex. The meeting also decided that PhD, MSc and four-years BSc (honour) classes of sports sciences would also be started in this complex.
