Quality enhancement cells in universities

QEC in public and private universities
Karachi, May 26: Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has established Quality Enhancement Cells (QEC) in 84 Public and Private Universities in Pakistan to ensure quality education at tertiary level.

The QAA makes it sure that the universities take steps to enhance the standard of education in teaching and research. The universities are periodically asked by the QAA to come to the workshops arranged by it and share each others experience and methodology in enhancing the standard of education.

HEC recently held a workshop in Karachi to discuss the latest developments in the teaching and research. Chairman HEC, Dr Javed Leghari chaired the concluding session and informed the participants that despite the reduced funding, HEC had redoubled its efforts for the provision of quality education. He assured them that it was one of the core strategic aims of the HEC framework and continues to strive to achieve international standards.
