Governor orders 4 universities to start BSC in forestry
LAHORE, Oct 29: Governor Lt Gen (r) Khalid Maqbool has ordered four
universities to start BSc Forestry classes, a statement said on
Sunday.
Chairing a meeting on the forestry education, the governor
granted 50-acre agricultural of land to the Islamia University Bahawalpur, the
statement added.
It said the land had been in the custody of the
Forestry Department.
The statement said the four universities were the
Islamia University Bahawalpur, the Agricultural University Faisalabad, the Arid
Agricultural University Rawalpindi and the University of Veterinary and Animal
Sciences Lahore.
The Forest secretary told the governor that the diploma
in forestry had been introduced in Gutwala Forestry Research Centres in
Faisalabad, Bahawalpur and in Ghora Galli.
He also said the Punjab Forest
Department would offer a six month internship programme on the Wild Life Parks.
The government would set up a Wild Life Park on 246 acres of land in
Murree, he added. Daily Times
