QUETTA, Sept 21: Students and teachers continued their protest
third consecutive day Thursday against reported removal of more than 100
teachers from University of Balochistan. Students and teachers held a protest
demonstration in front of office of Vice Chancellor and chanted slogans. They
were of the view that they would continue their protest till the reinstatement
of staff removed from service and no teacher would attend classes. Various
students organisations have also announced support for teachers protest.
Meanwhile a Spokesman of UoB has strongly denied teachers allegations that 100
teachers were being removed form service. Spokesman said here today that a fake
list issued is concocted and a conspiracy to bring bad name for the
administration and institution. Rather names of several good and able teachers
were also included. Spokesman added a small group of teachers wants to put
pressure by interfering in the administrative affairs of Vice Chancellor which
is a planned conspiracy to deteriorate educational environment. Teachers who
have been removed from service were had serious allegations and a faculty member
tendered resignation after charges was proved against him. He said that it was
better affectees had made an appeal against any complaint according to the rules
and if the problem was not resolved, they could go to courts but they adopted a
wrong way. Teachers are bound to University laws. it is their moral and legal
responsibility to avert academic environment of the students from going worse. PPI
