BIEK Pre-Engineering Part-II results

Karachi, Sep 10: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has announced the results of Pre-Engineering Part-II, General Science Groups and Diploma in Physical Education, on Sunday. Total pass percentage was 46.76, 34.20 and 67.86 per cent respectively.

Chairman BIEK Anwar Ahmed Zai said that the results were announced on a Sunday owing to the political scenario in the country that would possibly dominate the media, thereby underplaying the results announcement.

In the Pre-Engineering Group two candidates shared first position. Hassan Hamid bearing seat number 163287 from Adamjee Government Science College and Sania Rasool Bhutto, seat number 179296 from Bahria College(Karsaaz), both secured 977/1100 marks with 88.82 percentage.

The second position went to Samira Iqbal, seat number 175576 of PECHS Government Girls College obtained with 88.73 per cent marks, who slipped to the second position with the difference of just one marks. The third position went to Mariya Abdul Ghafoor, seat number 175668 from St. Joseph's College for Women, with 88.36 per cent.

In General Science group, Safia Sultana Ansari, seat number 241764 of Sir Syed Government Girls College Nazimabad, stood first class first with 81.91 percentage securing 901/1100 marks. The second position was bagged by Alifia Liaquat Ali Dairkee, seat number 242121 of the DA Degree College for Women. She secured.64 per cent marks. The third position was secured by Mubashir Hussain, seat number 240781, with 81.64 percentage marks.

According to the results announcement by the BIEK, total 21,880 candidates were registered in Pre-Engineering group. Among them, 21,487 candidates, including 6,165 female candidates appeared in the examinations with pass percentage of 46.29 and 47.93 per cent for male and female candidates respectively. As many as 10,048 candidates were declared passed including 2,955 female candidates.

In Pre-engineering Group, only 2.87 per cent (617 candidates) passed in 'A-1' Grade and 8.97 per cent (1928 candidates) in 'A' Grade.

About 1,778 candidates were registered in the General Science Group for the examination. Of which, 1,737 candidates including 842 female candidates appeared to take their examinations. Pass percentage of the group is 28.16 per cent. Total 594 candidates were announced passed including 342 female candidates. Only four candidates (0.23 per cent) secured 'A-1' Grade in the General Science Group.

In the Diploma in Physical Education, total 28 candidates were registered for the examinations and all of them appeared in the examinations while 19 of them were declared passed. None of them could secure 'A-1' to 'C' grade this year as 12 candidates passed in 'D' Grade and other seven candidates passed in 'E' Grade. The news
